MAITENA EZKUTARI

Hello guys! In today’s post, we are going to talk about a very important figure referring to Navarre, and thanks to this person we can enjoy some of these marvellous landscapes.

Her name is Maitena Ezkutari Artieda and she is the current general manager of Navarre’s tourism and commerce. She was born in Etxarri Aranazt in 1970. After finishing college in 1993, she started working in Lekunberri’s tourism office and in 1995 she was nominated to her current position, joining the Plazaola touristic committee.

In this aggrupation, she has leaded various interesting projects. The first one is the declaration of Orgi’s forest as a recreational natural area, the first of Navarra. Thanks to her nowadays we can enjoy this beautiful oak grove, and even ride horses through it.

She has also recover the Plazaola’s old railroad track as a green way. This track used to connect Guipuzkoa and Navarre and it’s perfect for a walk. This website will provide you every information you need about Plazaola’s green way, as well as this interactive map.

Last but not least, she has leaded the project of the reconditioning of the caves of Mendukilo. This cave is located in Aralar and is one of the most important centres of speleology of Navarre. (foto)
